This Policy applies to personal data we collect about:
- individuals who we’re in contact for business-related purposes (e.g. limited partners in funds we advise and / or manage, portfolio companies and their staff, companies that we engage with as part of our investment pipeline and their staff, including through our “Immersion Programme”, and any accelerators or events that we host, job applicants and staff), including for potential transactions;
- individuals who visit our websites or interact with us via social media, including individuals who choose to receive our communications;
- individuals who are engaged by our service providers; and
- individuals who visit our office(s).
Please note that this Policy does not apply to personal data collected by any third party, including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be available from our websites. Any personal data collected by a third party would be governed by that third party’s own privacy policy.
2. What personal data we process and why
These are the categories of data that we may process:
- contact details, e.g. name, email address, phone number and address;
- financial data, e.g. billing address, credit card number and bank details;
- relationships, e.g. emergency contacts, marital status and next of kin;
- identifiers and documents, e.g. passport, driving licence, national insurance number, proof of address and national identification numbers;
- activity, behavioural and communications, e.g. friend list, interests, tagged media, instance messaging, social media posts and postal content, and professional opinions;
- personal characteristics and diversity, equality and inclusion data , e.g. race and ethnicity, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health, sexual orientation, nationality, date of birth, CV information and academic qualifications;
- images and recordings, e.g. CCTV footage, photos and videos;
- views and opinions, e.g. survey responses, testimonials, non-political, religious or philosophical opinions;
- work-related data, e.g. details of grievance(s), completed tasks, disciplinary proceedings etc;
- technical identifiers, e.g. IP address, mac address and log-in information; and
- aggregated data, e.g. statistical or demographic data.

4. Consequences of not providing personal data
If we need your personal data to comply with our legal or contractual requirements, failure to provide this information means that we may not be able to provide services to you and / or interact with you.

- business associates who are involved in, or considering being involved in, transactions where we are involved, such as investors, lenders or financial intermediaries, and limited partners of funds that we advise and / or manage;
- third-party service providers such as our professional advisors (e.g., accountants, lawyers or other consultants), regulatory hosts, fund administrators, compliance / AML providers, and providers of IT and security services and IT platform service providers;
- corporate affiliates and subsidiary companies;
- independent public accountants and auditors;
- advertising, marketing and promotional agencies to help us deliver and analyse the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and promotions;
- third parties that are considering acquiring or that acquire all or part of our assets or stock (including assets or stock held by funds that we advise and / or manage), or that succeed us in carrying on all or part of our business or services provided to or by us; and
- regulators and other governmental agencies.
We may use third-party AI service providers. These providers are carefully selected to ensure they comply with our privacy standards and legal requirements.
6. International transfers of your personal data
We are established in the UK but may, for the above listed purposes, transfer your personal data to our external third parties who may be outside of the UK or the EEA. If so, we will ensure a similar level of protection by ensuring at least one of the following safeguards is in place:
- the country to which personal data is being transferred has been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the European Commission; or
- we use specific contracts approved by the European Commission which give personal data the same protection it has in the UK and Europe.
7. Data retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements. Please note that we may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation with respect to our relationship with you.
8. Your rights
Subject to limitations and / or restrictions, you have a right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you, or to get a copy of it;
- ask for a copy of your personal data in a portable (machine-readable) format or make us send it to someone else;
- ask us correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data, though for legal reasons we might not always be able to do it;
- say no to us using your data for direct marketing and in certain circumstances 'legitimate interests', research and statistical reasons;
- withdraw any consent you've given us at any time; and
- ask us to review an automated decision.
You have a right to object to the processing of your personal data where that processing is carried out for our legitimate interests. However, we may not be able to fulfil this request in all instances.
We will respond to your request in writing, or orally if requested, within one month after receipt of your request. In exceptional cases, we may extend this period by two months. We may request proof of identification to verify your request. You may also make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office at any time.
